EXPLORING THE UNITED STATES!

The all-around great American experience is all about the long road trips, the food, the BIG cities, beautiful national parks, and so much more.

This stunning country has so much to offer it can sometimes be hard to know where to start.

I highly recommend that everyone visit the United States at least once. Whether you’re looking for a snowy mountain getaway or a fun-filled adventure at the theme parks with the family, the US has it all.

WHAT TO SEE & DO

Due to the massive size of the USA, there are more than enough things to see and do. Here are a few major US attractions you might wish to cross off your bucket list.

New York City
Monument Valley
Venice Beach
Disneyland
Golden Gate Bridge
Las Vegas
US Capitol
Yosemite National Park
Florida Keys

BEST TIME TO VISIT

The best time to visit depends on the type of vacation you wish to plan.

During the summer, beach cities like Miami, Los Angeles, San Diego, Outer Banks, etc., are quite popular among tourists. These beautiful places are great places to soak up some sun.

The fall months (Sept, Oct, Nov) are also a great time to visit as the trees are changing color, and the heat is cooling down.

I recommend visiting more popular destinations right before fall hits, like the Grand Canyon, Disney World, etc., as the school holidays have finished and most people are coming home from their summer vacations. Hence, there are fewer crowds and lower prices.

Winter in the US is also another wonderful time of year to visit. Be sure to visit New York City during Christmas. It’s absolutely magical, and the ski resorts in the National Parks have some of the most breathtaking views.

Spring is the perfect time to plan a road trip! Don’t know where to start? Check out my Two-week West Coast USA road trip itinerary.

BUDGET TIPS

Wondering how to explore this beautiful country on a budget? All you need to do is plan accordingly and remember these handy tips.

Suggested hotel budget  100 – 200 USD. This is a suggested budget, assuming you’re staying in a mid-range hotel. You can always lower this number.

Budget hotel prices typically range from 50 – 80 USD. However, if you stay in fancier accommodation or eat out more often, expect this to be higher

1
Roadtripping

Planning a road trip is by far the best way to travel to the United States.

You can car, bus, train, or RV your way through the pretty landscapes at a reasonable cost.

Depending on the type of trip you take, always do your research and compare and see what the best travel option is for you.

2
Food

The food portion sizes in the US tend to be pretty big. My partner and I usually share a main, and generally, that’s more than enough food.

However, many restaurants are more than happy to split meals, and you can always take a box home if you end up with leftovers.

3
Park Passes

Some of the best sights to see in the United States are its National Parks.

If you plan to visit multiple parks during your trip, you might want to consider getting an annual park pass.

For $80.00, you can purchase an annual pass and receive entries to over 2000 parks in the USA for a full year.

4
Free Attractions

Another great thing I love about the US is its number of free attractions. You can see and do many things for free and still feel like you get the American experience.

America’s top free attractions include the Smithsonian Museums in Washington D.C, Staten Island Ferry in New York City, & the Hollywood sign in Los Angeles
